Who’s doing all this adventuring?

First NASA in Huntsville, AL.

As a 90’s kid in a small town in Wyoming, I explored the world with Carmen Sandiego and Ms. Frizzle on the Magic School Bus after school. During recess I memorized the countries of the world and ran for the National Geographic section during library time. In high school, I developed a love for photography and a strong work ethic to earn some pocket change that funded road trips with friends. After moving to sunny AZ for college, I used the diaspora of my friends as an excuse to continue wandering.

A 12-hour first date to the Grand Canyon should have been my clue that I’d met my adventure companion, but a proposal on St. Thomas definitely sealed the deal. Along the way, I became a middle school science teacher and meshed my love of travel and awe of nature into the lessons I share with my students. 15 years, 2 kids and a pandemic later, our family has set our sights on exploring all 50 states and 63 National Parks while sharing our appreciation for the people, history and science along the way.

We hope sharing our adventures will inspire other families to get out and explore too:)
